Turkey sends note of protest to Belgium

Turkey has sent a note of protest to Belgium, AzVision.az reports referring to the Turkish media.

According to media reports, the protest was caused by a ban put on the arrest of the members of the European wing of the PKK, namely Remzi Kartal, Zubeyir Aydar, and 30 other supporters of the organization.

It is reported that a note of protest was handed over to Michel Malherbe, Ambassador to Belgium in Ankara.

The conflict between Turkey and the PKK, which demands the creation of an independent Kurdish state, has lasted more than 25 years, claiming more than 40,000 lives. The PKK is recognized as a terrorist organization by the UN and the EU.
